How to use hashtags to gain followers and likes

Including hashtags in Instagram posts is one of the simplest ways to try to gain followers on the social network. Tags display your profile to a potential number of people with an interest in a particular topic.

For example, if you post something romantic, don’t forget to use #love or #love (love, in english). Thus, users searching for the theme can find the content even without entering your profile.

However, common sense when choosing the tag can make all the difference to increase the reach and interaction in your photos and videos. Prefer the most popular hashtags that are hot but make sense to what you’re sharing.

Avoid those that are too long and confusing as well. In addition to being more likely to make typos, they make readability difficult (#I love a long hashtag) and only serve to pollute your post.

Don’t overdo it

Although the social network limits the amount of hashtags to 30, experts do not recommend using so many tags. According to the AdExpresso website, studies indicate that 11 would be the “magic” number, that is, the one that generates more engagement. However, using between 8 and 14 tags is considered a good average.

But if they are not well chosen, they can even harm your strategy. By opting for random tags that don’t match the promised content, you’ll have fewer views and interactions than other profiles that consistently use the hashtag.

This can make the platform understand that your posts aren’t relevant . And with that, it will deliver fewer and fewer publications to certain groups of people. So make good use of hashtags.
