Want to get more attention for your Facebook ads? Have you tried using tests? This article will show you how to add a social media poll to your Facebook ads.
How to use quizzes in Facebook Lead Ads
Facebook Ads allow you to run lead generation campaigns directly from your social network. Ads are convenient even on mobile devices. Users can simply click on your ad to open a form pre-filled with their contact information.
Of course, you need to give users an incentive to fill out these forms, otherwise they won’t click on them. At the end of the quiz, ask users for their contact information so you can send them the results.
There are several benefits to using quizzes with your Facebook ads:
- This is not a commonly used content marketing tactic. Therefore, the competition is low here. Quizzes like this are a great way to offer your audience something fresh and fun.
- Interactive works. Your audience will actively engage with your content, instead of just passively viewing it.
- Quizzes are shared. If the quiz is interesting, users are willing to share them on social networks.
Now let’s take a look at a step-by-step guide to using online quizzes in Facebook lead generation campaigns.
Step 1. Create a Facebook Lead Generation Campaign
First, go to Facebook Ads Manager and set up a new campaign. When asked to choose a campaign objective, select the Lead Generation option.
Then enter a name for your campaign and click Continue to move to the ad set level.
Step 2: Audience Targeting
The success of your Facebook Lead Ads will depend a lot on how effectively you target the right audience for your test. If you start showing your ads to people who are unlikely to be interested in your business, your budget and effort will be wasted.
In the “Audience for Your Campaign” section, you can target new or previously created saved audiences, custom audiences, or similar audiences. You can also refine your audience by location, demographics, interests, behavior, and connections.
Use a saved audience
You probably already have an idea of the demographics of your audience. You can use this information to define your audience and then save that audience for use in future Facebook campaigns.
First, select the locations, age groups, gender, and language you want to target.
In the Detailed Targeting section, select demographics, interests, and behaviors to improve your audience.
You can also set up connection targeting. Click the Add Connection Type drop-down list to view options for people who like your Facebook page or have used your app, or their friends. You can also exclude people who have already interacted with your business.
When you’re done, click Save This Audience to use it for future campaigns.
If you want to apply a saved audience that you created earlier, click Use Saved Audience and select an audience from other lead campaigns.
Use a custom or similar audience
You also have the option to target a new or previously created custom or similar audience (which has similar characteristics to people who have previously interacted with your business).
To create a new custom audience or a similar audience, click Create New and select Custom Audience or Lookalike Audience from the drop-down list.
If you are creating a twin, click in the Source field and select an existing audience that your twin will be based on. Also choose the locations you want to target and the size of your audience. When you’re done, click Create Audience.
Step 3: Choose Placements and Budget for Facebook Ads
The next few steps are pretty straightforward. First, select the placements where you want your ads to appear. If you choose Auto Placements, Facebook will optimize your ad placements based on where your ads are most likely to be seen.
Also, choose your Facebook ad budget and set a schedule. When you’re done, click Continue.
Step 4. Select an ad for your campaign
You are now ready to select your ad. It is best to use one image or one video as your main ad. Social media uses more images or videos. So make sure the visuals you choose are attractive.
It is also important to upload images with the correct specifications . A bad image can prevent people from clicking on your ad.
Next, enter the copy of the ad you want to display in your lead ad, including the text, headline, and feed link description. Also choose an appropriate call to action. Unfortunately, Facebook does not offer the “Take a survey” option, so the most appropriate (of the available options) is “Learn more”.
When you complete these fields, you will see a preview of what your lead ad will look like in various placements such as the desktop channel, mobile channel, and more.
Step 5. Create an application form for your test
The last step is to create a test form. Remember, Facebook top ad quizzes are different from simply promoting your quizzes using other types of ads. The main difference is that for the ad test, you create a form with all your questions directly from Facebook.
To create a form, scroll down and click the Create Form button.
In the Create Shape window, start with the Shape Type section and select Volume Boost or Dimension Gain. I recommend that you select the Volume Up option because it generates a form that is quick and easy to fill out on a mobile device.
Then enter a title, choose an image and layout for your form.
You are now ready to add your questions. First, select the information you want to capture with your ad. You can use one of the many options as shown below. It’s usually best to ask for names and email addresses so you can use them to build an email list in your targeted campaign.
Second, you need to create questions for your test. Click the Add Custom Question option and select the type of question you want to add. The multiple choice format is good for a test because it requires minimal typing from users.
Then enter your question and answer options.
You can add as many questions as you like. Don’t make the test too long, because users may not make it to completion.
Now customize the message your audience will see after participating in the quiz. You can direct them to a landing page where they can see the test results and let them know that they will also receive their results via email.
Then click “Done” or “Save” (if you want to return to the form later).
Once you finish creating this form, you are ready to launch your campaign. All you have to do is hit the confirm button. And it’s all. Your Facebook quiz is now available.
Advertising campaign optimization
An important nuance for an advertising campaign: we automate it, since the list of potential customers who have passed the test or quiz will not be automatically added to your mailing list. Your best bet is to use some kind of automation tool. When you run a lead ad campaign, you can integrate your email marketing tool or CRM with Facebook’s leading advertisements.
As with everything else, you may not get everything right on the first try. However, by analyzing the performance of your ad campaign, you can optimize your future campaigns and use tests as an effective lead acquisition tactic.
